Why?!?! Another blog?!?! Aren’t there enough out there already???

Yes, there are a plethora of blogs and I too subscribe to many of them. However, I noticed I have to subscribe to one blog for movie reviews, one for books and, a third for plays. I have so many interests hence the name, Philomath. I enjoy learning about…well, everything.

I realized, in the few years since I graduated, I stopped reading. To remedy that, I joined a book club that read mysteries. That seemed to appease my thirst for knowledge for a while but it didn’t last for long.

I then started attending movie screenings. My first year I was obsessed and I tried to see as many as possible. I attended 101 movie screenings in one year! At the end of the year, I realized I saw plenty of dreadful movies so, since then, I have decided to be more selective.

My mom is the only person I know who enjoys attending cultural events as much as I do. Whether we are attending a play or symphony, we always have a good time. We joined a subscription that allows us to attend activities we would not have thought of attending before.

The next step I had taken was to join Meetup.com. Meetup is NOT for hooking up. I am happily married but wanted to broaden my circle of friends. I usually attend book clubs or dinners with other women at restaurants I would have never considered before.

So, that’s how I ended up here, writing a blog. There are so many activities that I have been privileged to do in Philadelphia and nationwide that I decided to start writing about my adventures.
